This articles shows the result of a small study that emphasizes the connection between sleep and weight loss. In our clinic we have always emphasized to our patients that is is important for individuals to get an average of 7-8 hours of sleep a day in order to optimized weight loss results. One important reason we emphasize this is the association of elevated cortisol with increase stress (sleep deprivation is a form of physical stress on the body).
